It was a brisk November evening when the assembled guests at King's Boulevard, mulled wine in one hand, cameras in the other, watched Jacques Rival's 'Identified Flying Object' raise into the sky. Resembling a bird cage, IFO is..
... the first work French architect/illustrator, Jacques, has created for the UK. It is also the first in a series of major installations that make up RELAY an arts programme curated by Michael Pinsky and Stephanie Delcroix, which will reflect the emerging city scape at Kings Cross throughout 2012 and 2013. Keep an eye out as IFO pops up in various guises over the coming weeks, perhaps as an area of play, or a cafe during the day when "it will act as a framing device for the daily theatre of the street." Perhaps suspended from a crane, or sitting atop a buildin at night when "it will become a luminous spectrum re-emitting the energy it has accumulated during the day."
